Simple Energy will present this week on the challenges and rewards of starting a clean tech company at a new local energy event called Switch, at the Absinthe House at 7pm on Tuesday. Modeled after the TED presentation style, this event will feature fast-paced, highly engaging speakers discussing a variety of topics all related to the energy industry. We hope to see you there – tickets are almost sold out so get yours today!
Presenting on the challenges and rewards of starting a clean tech company, Simple Energy co-founders Yoav Lurie and Justin Segall will address everything from why TechStars is an amazing program to the regulatory hurdles that often need to be overcome in the industry.
“When it comes to regulated industries, clean tech and energy certainly present an excellent example of a challenging environment for startups,” explained Lurie recently while discussing the importance of incubators for clean tech startups. “Not only do young companies have to navigate complicated rules that may involve hundreds of pages of information and months of difficult applications, they may also not have the resources to invest in having any regulatory impact on those rules.”
Other speakers will discuss dynamic pricing for energy, increasing energy efficiency in Colorado, and a presentation called “Why Did My Mother Buy Her Prius?” Speakers from Navigant will also describe “A Tale of Two Cities: Boulder and Boulder,” and “Boil Some Water, Take a Bath, and Start a Revolution: Climate Change Dynamics.”
We’re pleased to support this great new event for clean tech in our community, and hope to see you there!
